sending you warm wishes card |tutorial

I’ve got a new card and photo tutorial to share with you today. This elegant Sending You Warm Wishes card features the Floating Frames Pop-Up Die by Karen Burniston and a few other great Sizzix dies. I also used some of my new My Mind’s Eye papers designed by Rhonna Farrerlove them!

To start, cut a 4-1/2” x 5-1/2” vertical card base (a standard A2 card). Decorate the outside of the card by layering a piece of patterned paper onto the card front. Use your Big Shot to cut one Styled Label die and a small and large Scroll from the Crown, Medallion & Scrolls Sizzlit set.

Stamp sentiment onto the left hand portion of label and ink edges. Add label to front of card and cut off excess. Assemble pieces on front of card as shown. Ink edges on all four sides of the card front.

For the inside, cut your inside piece using the Floating Frames die.

Add adhesive to the back two sides, make sure to use extra strong adhesive for this step.

Next, start assembling your card. Add a patterned paper strip towards the bottom of your inside card base and then adhere your die cut piece to the inside following package directions. Karen has also made a very helpful video about how to assemble the Floating Frames Die. Ink inside edges of the card.

Cut one label from the Celebrate Sizzlit set and ink edges. Stamp sentiment on label and glue down to the floating frame on the right side.

Cut one Medallion from the Crown, Medallion & Scrolls Sizzlit set as well as another small and large scroll from the same set. Add medallion to the floating frame on the left side and add the small scroll underneath so it sticks out just a bit (make sure the scroll is inside the card when closed). Add larger scroll to the lower right hand side.

Add flowers and pearls to the outside and pearls to the inside of your card as shown in the main example.

All done! I am really happy with how it turned out. Making cards like this with an interactive element really give it a wow factor I think.

That card is really pretty. Especially how it pops out. I saw some similar dies on Topdogdies.com They sell Sizzix dies among many other popular brands. I am new to scrapbooking and always like to look at other peoples projects for tips and ideas.
