I {heart} u card

i-heart-you

Happy Monday everyone! I’ve got a new card to share with you today. I actually made it a few weeks ago but completely forgot to share it. Hope you like it!

Supplies: Chickadee Street (Loveland, Scenic Route), white and pink cardstock (The Colorful Life Cardstock Stack, DCWV), green cardstock (Bazzill), white cardstock that was stamped on (Whisper White, Stampin' Up), Hearts-A-Plenty pop-up die (Karen Burniston, Sizzix), Butterfly Kisses font (Sizzix), stamp set (love2hug #4, The Stamps of Life), black ink (American Crafts), black pens (American Crafts), Upper Crest Border Punch (Fiskars).

Other stuff

I decided I am a PC, not a Mac and it went back to the Apple store yesterday. I’m totally okay with that. I wanted to love it – I did - there are a lot of cool things that it does. However, the main uses I needed it for seemed to be a lot of hassle. If it wasn’t going to work for the intended purpose, then it really wasn’t worth it for me. Anyway… I feel good with my decision. :-)

Have a great week!

Other stuff
It has been a long week. Long. I’ve been in need of a new laptop so on Sunday I got a Macbook Pro. There is a huge learning curve and for someone who doesn’t do well with change, well, let’s just say it’s added a lot of stress. Do I like my new Mac? Yes. Do I love it? No. I’d better get on the loving it train pretty darn quick or else it’s going to cost me a pretty penny to return it! I don’t get to use Windows Live Writer anymore so I’m having blogging/uploading photo issues. You have no idea how many times I uploaded this weeks Wordless Wednesday! lol! I cannot recommend Windows Live Writer enough... I’m going to miss it and it makes me extremely sad that there isn’t a Mac version. (I had to go to the old computer to fix this to look right!!! ugh).

Okay, so that was my week in a nut shell. :-)

Hope you like the new video!

Lawnscaping Challenge #13 | have fun!

My awesome friend (and pop-up designer extraordinaire!) Karen is sponsoring the latest Lawnscaping Challenge (#13)how could I not play along?!

have-fun

The challenge was to decorate the inside of the card and I used the Pull Tag Frame die to do just that. The pictures don’t do the inside of the card justice… the pull tag is so cool, just hard to photograph. The challenge closes Wednesday, July 13, 2011 so there’s still time to play along. There’s a prize too, you could win one of Karen’s dies – the Scallop Circle 3-D Pop-Up die. Head on over to Lawnscaping Challenge #13 and check it out. (Full disclosure: I am obviously not eligible for any prize since I do design work for Karen).

Supplies: Swimsuit Season stamp set (Lawn Fawn), Pull Tag Frame die (Sizzix), green and white cardstock (Bazzill), Big Waves patterned paper (Splash, Echo Park), black pigment ink, black pen, Tombow Dual Brush Pens, Tiny Attacher (Tim Holtz, Advantus).

Other stuff

I've been busy this week recording some new videos for Create Scrapbookscan’t wait to share them but it’ll be next week. I have learned a few things, 1. I say “okay” a lot (I mean, A LOT!), and 2. when I mess up, I say “son of a crack head.” Obviously the last one doesn’t make it into the cut, I tend to redo those. ;-)

Hope you’re having a great week!

sharing some red, white, and blue lanterns | fun decoration idea

redwhitebluelanterns-all

I decided to add a little 4th of July cheer to our patio with some red, white, and blue lanterns. They are so easy to make! I used  the Lanterns 3-D Bigz Die from Sizzix (designed by the awesome Karen Burniston). I just assembled them and hung them up. I was actually going to step it up a notch and add white stars to them when I realized that I had no star punch or die cut. Oh well! I think using patterned paper adds its own touch of decoration and hung them as is. What do you think? Fun right?

The lanterns are so versatile too. Just change out the paper and they’ll fit any theme. Birthdays, baby showers, Christmas, Halloween… the possibilities are endless. You can easily add decoration to them also to give them some extra pizzazz. You know, extra decorations like stars for The 4th of July (now if I could only figure out why I own no star punch or die cut… how is that possible!)

Hope you’re having a great holiday weekend! Be safe!
