Mother’s Day is just around the corner…

Are you ready? I am! And if you happen to be my mother {there is nothing to see here, move along….}

happy-mothers-day-2happy-mothers-day-1

I make three cards for Mother’s Day: one for my mom, my step-mom, and my grandma. I know I should probably make three unique cards for three unique and special ladies but every year I think I’m going to do that and every year they don’t get done because time gets away from me. I didn’t want to fall into that trap again so this year I decided that if I was actually going to send them out, I’d do all three the same. It feels good to be done and know that they’ll get there in time.

Have you started your cards yet? Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 8th. You’ve still got time to make one and get it in the mail.

Supplies: Whisper White cardstock (Stampin’ Up), green cardstock (Bazzill), Black Pen .05 and .01 (American Crafts), Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (Dots & Flowers Set, Sizzix), flowers (from my stash), Jewels – Basic Pearls (Stampin’ Up), ribbon (Michael’s), corner rounder (Fiskars).

Have a wonderful weekend! I’ll be helping my husband install a door… joy.

I love you! card

i-love-you

I made this card just because I wanted to play with a stamp set from The Stamps of Life that I hadn’t had a chance to use yet. Lovin’ the hanging banners! Sometimes it’s rather freeing to make a card just because. :-)

Supplies: Banners4all stamp set (The Stamps of Life), Classic inks – Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, and Tempting Turquoise (Stampin’ Up),white cardstock (Bazzill), patterned papers – Ad Lib Improv, Ad Lib Scribbles, Ad Lib Vertigo (Bo Bunny), large circle punch (Fiskars), Scallop Sentiment Border Punch (Fiskars).

Have a great week!

Lawnscaping Challenge # 8 | just so you know card

Another Lawnscaping Challengelove them. I made this card for challenge #7. I was so excited to incorporate a fun pop-up die, the Floating Frames die.

just-so-you-know-5

Supplies: Smitty’s ABCs (Lawn Fawn), Critters in the Forest (Lawn Fawn), Card w/ Floating Frames 3-D Pop-Up (Sizzix), Celebrate die set (Sizzix), white cardstock (Bazzill), patterned papers (A Walk In The Park collection, Echo Park).

Randomness

My UStamp projects are all done (including the write-ups!), I’m doing a million loads of laundry, the man did awesome with his ride, it’s all air conditioner all the time now, I’ve reread all the Twilight series and am now on Breaking Dawn, watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 on Saturday (loved it!), yelled at Modern Family last night (seriously! I yelled at the TV) because they gave a big spoiler for Gran Torino (which the man hasn’t seen yet), listening to CCRand… I have no idea what I’m going to make for dinner.

Told ya… random.

Enjoy your week!

the MS150 and scrappy news

trainingride1502010This weekend will be my husbands 12th year riding in the MS150. Yes, I said 12th year…. that’s a lot of miles! To say I am proud of him is an understatement. I’m sharing a quick picture of him… he’s not a fan of pictures so I definitely got him on the go (or should I say running from the camera!). If you feel like showing support, here’s the link to do so:

Thank you. It’s very appreciated.

Scrappy News

Fiskateer Friday - Every Friday the Fiskateers focus on one person on there blog… guess who it is today? The Fiskateer Friday Focus is me! Cool huh? If you are unfamiliar with this creative and supportive community, I highly recommend checking it out.

Fawny Flickr Friday – I woke up to a wonderful surprise this morning, one of my cards is featured on the Lawn Fawn blog. It got picked for “Fawny Flickr Friday.” 5 cards are picked from their Flickr gallery. I’m so flattered! Thanks Lawn Fawn!

Lawnscaping Challenge Blog – My second awesome surprise to wake up to today was being picked as one of the top three in the most recent Lawnscaping challenge #7. Thank you Lawnscaping!

My Friday obviously started off pretty good… love it! I made a quick trip to Target to keep the happiness alive, I wanted to get the newest Harry Potter movie. Tomorrow is movie night! It’s a tradition for the kids and I when my husband is off on his big ride. I can’t wait!

Happy Friday!
