The story of Daisy and how she came to live with us. She’s a joy and I’m so happy she’s part of our family. It’s nice to have some noise in the house during the day… though I could do without the little puddles on the floor during her training.

I used more of the January Girls Loft kit, it has a really great selection of papers… I swear it just comes together.

I downloaded Hope for Haiti Now and Hallelujah is currently playing. Wow! I mean… WOW! I am quickly reminded how much I like Justin Timberlake. Great music. Great cause. It’s a way to help.

year in review layout and a card

Kickin’ off the New Year with a simple layout… my favorite kind. I got the idea from a challenge on the KI Memories blog to create a year in review layout. When I start a layout, I normally have a pretty basic idea in my head of what I’m going to do, but when I get started I feel like I have to add all this stuff because let’s be honest, I have a lot of stuff. Odd thing is, when there is too much stuff on a page (one I make mind you), I just don’t like it as well. It feels to cluttered. When I keep it nice and simple, crisp with clean lines, I always love it. I’m a simple girl at heart and this layout makes me happy!

Simple with clean lines is how I seem to be in my everyday life too. I don’t like clutter, I find it overwhelming which is probably why my scrapbook room is set up the way it is and I pick up after every project.

I also made a card using the January The Girls Loft kit and sketch 151 from CPS (love their sketches!). I’m really diggin’ the colors in the GL kit, the papers are gorgeous… love them! I'm going to send the card to my awesome Grandma, she'll be 92 next month. :-)

My Project Life kit  came yesterday and now I’m off to play!

Project Life

I just ordered the Project Life kit by Becky Higgins… I am so excited, I couldn’t help myself! I know I wasn’t going to buy any scrapbook supplies until I reached my goal of 50 projects for my Use Your Stash Challenge but I could not pass this up... and I figured it would help me scrap more so it’ll be worth it (I am aware I am totally justify my purchase but whatever, lol!).

I’m really starting to get inspired by so many things around me… I love that feeling when you see a certain something (doesn’t matter what!) and it just makes you feel happy! Those kind of little things put me in a creative mood. I love that feeling! Today I plan on doing something creative – hopefully actually creating – but if not, it’ll be something in the creative department.

Daisy

It has not been a banner start to the new year, but true to my word, I remain positive! I seem to be behind on everything, including blogging. I’m taking it one step at a time, trying to get back on track. I’m hoping to get some creative time in this weekend too, I really miss it. I've got some new Girls Loft to play with... it's calling me!

One of the things that has been keeping me busy is the newest member of our family. On Tuesday, January 12, we adopted a puppy! Daisy is a Boxer mix and she’s freakin’ adorable if I do say so myself. She’s perfect! I swear I am not spoiling her…

Stephenie had an awesome idea… I loved the idea and quickly started adding songs to my play list. The music I picked for my playlist for life goes along with my word for 2010 (positive!). I picked songs that I loved, found uplifting in someway, or just made me happy. My main song for the year is Don’t Stop Believin’… I couldn’t make up my mind between the original Journey version or the one from the Glee soundtrack so I went with both.

If I was going to do it as a free for all from all the music out there, I probably would have come up with an entirely different list.

Oh... if you haven't figured it out yet, I have a thing for Glee...

In 2008 my word was FOCUS.

In 2009 my word was DETERMINED.

My word for 2010 is… POSITIVE.

By nature I believe I am a positive person but I want to focus on being more positive because there seem to be way to many things in this world that can get me down. I need to be positive for my family, my friends, and most importantly (all be it very selfishly), myself.

The more I focus on being positive, the more I’ll be able to focus on:

• Being a strong person
• Maintaining a healthy weight
• Being patient
• Being more productive
• Going with the flow
• Being more in the moment
• Accepting things

• Being there for others
