December Daily 2010 | Day 20

I decided to document my day of treat making and include one of our favorite recipes in my December Daily entry.

Here’s the recipe if you’re interested… good stuff!

Peppermint Fudge

  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (12 oz)
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips (6 oz)
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint flavoring
  • 4 mini candy canes

Lightly grease a 9-inch square pan; line with a piece of plastic wrap, leaving the ends out to cover the finished fudge. The ends will also serve as handles which will help you lift the fudge out.

Heat condensed milk, chocolate chips, butter, and peppermint in a double boiler over simmering water. Stir until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth. Break up candy canes in food storage bag with rolling pin, don’t hit to hard or you’ll have peppermint candy dust.

Pour fudge into prepared pan, spread out gently. Add broken pieces of peppermint candy on top of fudge. Cover lightly with the ends of the plastic wrap. Chill until firm. Lift out of the pan and cut into small squares. Enjoy!

Happy Tuesday!

Oh, a recipe for fudge that doesn't require a candy thermonoter (sp???)! I'm so excited, can't wait to go get the ingredients to make it. THANK YOU so much for sharing it! Love the pages you've done in DD too!
