Dropping the boy off at Cross Country practice.

He runs Cross Country and during track season he runs Distance. It sounds weird for me to say "track practice" because that's not really what he does... but he keeps reminding me the Cross Country season is over, oh well. The picture is from my phone, I didn't have my camera with me and I had the setting on the wrong size... bummer.

One more day to go... woo! hoo!

Laundry.

Pretty much what I did all day.

Pretty darn boring...

Lunch time.

Our fridge is overloaded with Christmas food and items that are for New Years Eve... plus a quick run to the store for milk. To get lunch it was like working a puzzle to get everything out and back in to get what you needed.

Happy Sunday!

It was a hanging out, playing video games type of day.

Some of my gifts.

It was a wonderful day. It was just the man, the kids, and I this year (which it normally is). We had a long morning opening gifts, drinking coffee, and enjoying time together.

Merry Christmas!

View of the tree right before
Santa and Mrs. Claus went to bed.

I wish I would have gotten a better picture of the tree this year. I love it after the Santa gifts are put out, the house is quiet, and the tree is all glowy. Every year, the kids have their own special "Santa paper"... gold, red, and green shiny paper. One color for each kid... this way Santa never has to write down their names and they always know which gifts are theirs year after year.

That Santa's pretty smart!

My youngest singing The Twelve Days of Christmas.

I'm not sure where he gets half the ideas he has but today he asked me to get the words for The Twelve Days of Christmas song. I printed them out and handed them over... he's been singing the song on and off throughout the day.

What's a Partridge anyway? lol!

My oldest son giving a gift to a friend.

Nothing says Christmas like Spiderman wrapping paper held together with Duct Tape. And the gift? A box of Pop Tarts! Funny how boys are nutty and sweet all at the same time.

I see an extra workout in my future!

The girl just hanging out, watching a movie.

We all seem to be enjoying a nice, quiet day... doing our own thing. I love it!!!

Happy Sunday!

Heading out to the man's Christmas party.

Ignore the toys! lol! I completely forgot to pick up the floor and was pushing a variety of toys out of the way with my foot. I wore the same dress as last year, but the man is with a new company this year so know one knew... recycling at its finest!

Have a great weekend!

Christmas cards!

I started my cards and finished all in the same day... woo! hoo! Thank goodness I have an awesome printer, that totally helped the process. I included school pics (which as you know, are always stellar *cough cough*) and printed out the collage picture below taken on the 4th of this month when we actually had snow.

I'm still working on todays pic... no ideas as of yet!

Little Christmas tree I made for my Grandma.

My Grandmother will be 92 in February. She doesn't always put up a tree every year since she's older but I wanted her to be able to have one, so I made this little one for her... easy to store and put up (just pull it out and set it somewhere!). The extra special heart tree topper was made by my 8 year old.

A typical morning for me... in my scrapbook room
enjoying coffee and the computer before I take a kid
to school by 6am (seriously!).

Unfortunately the light blocks out the candle I light in the picture but whatever, I know it's there! ;-)

Have a great day!

A never ending supply of wrapping paper...
which doesn't include the stuff hidden in the closet.

Have a great Monday!

Small fry gettin' his craft on.

Gotta love a sale at Michael's! Drew had a good time creating his own spin on the snow globe.

Happy Crafting!

Santa and Drew.

We went to Breakfast with Santa at the elementary school this morning... so much easier than trying to go to a mall. Drew just talked and talked and talked... his list is way long after all, lol!

Happy Saturday!

I made this for my daughter to give to the boy
whose name she drew in the Secret Santa
gift exchange for her orchestra class.

May your day be merry and bright!

My daughters Holiday Concert at the high school.

On Monday night we went to my daughters Holiday Concert, it was a long night but the performances were incredible. The choirs performed first and then the orchestras (my daughter plays the violin) played. At the end of the concert, they all performed one final song together.

Drew's Christmas list. seriously!

That is our pantry door... my youngest keeps adding to his list, it's five pages long now! I keep having to move it higher and higher so he can write on it.

Three of my favorites that he has listed:
  • a live forever ray
  • invisible spray
  • a beanie that can make a person fly
gotta love a good imagination!

My baby girl (who isn't really a baby
anymore at 15) making a snowball.

It snowed today! Un-freakin-believable! The kids got out of school early and enjoyed every second of it. I had so many photos to choose from for todays daily photo but I picked this one because she was full of pure joy and positively beaming as she told me she made an actual snow ball.

We live in the Houston area so snow is not normal for us. I'm thinking she might have made one when she was a toddler before we moved here but she's got no real recollection of it so this was definitely a pretty exciting moment.

Have a great weekend!!!

Adding Christmas lights to the kids room.

Drew's room was the only room where I had to do anything major... I had to move his bed so he wouldn't be able to play with the lights.

Happy Wednesday!

daily photo: December 1

To document this holiday season, I am taking a daily photo everyday in December. My plan is to share these photos on my blog everyday but that might vary depending on when the photo is taken. It's December 1st so I'd better get started...

Early morning view from my kitchen into my family room.

I love early mornings when the lights are on and everything is quiet and looks peaceful, I love it!

Enjoy the holiday season!
