scrapbook room: update 2

The painting is done! woo!! hoo! I'm loving the green! Tonight we’ll assemble the desk (which is a monster!) and some of the cabinets. It’s definitely a process but it will be so worth it when we’re done. :-)

scrapbook room: update 1

I have a few pictures to share on the progress of my scrapbook room…

The room is empty, the walls are taped. I officially detest the molding that is on the walls. We bought a special tool to paint around the edges so I wouldn’t have to tape everything (I really hope it works!). We need to mud a few holes and caulk by part of the base board then we’ll start painting on Friday or Saturday.

On Monday I moved all of my scrapbook stuff into the front room and then yesterday my husband brought the cabinets home. Tonight he's picking up my new table and countertops.

I should probably add these cabinets, the table, and countertops are new to me but not 100% new. They were actually in an office supply room and a break room. They were free so I’m not complaining!

dismantling my scrapbook room

I have to start dismantling my scrapbook room. It’s going to be a huge task and I am not looking forward to it. Just the thought of starting is slightly overwhelming. We got the call that part of my cabinets are available so everything needs to be pulled out so we can paint and then start putting all the new cabinets and everything back in. I just have to keep reminding myself that it will all be worth it in the end.

I’m already thinking ahead on how I will organize my things. Organize to use, not to store. I follow Wendy Smedley’s blog and recently she posted quite a few scrapbook spaces that other’s had shared with her. I am highly impressed and more than inspired thanks to these women. Now if I could just find The Organized & Inspired Scrapbooker (which seems to be out of stock EVERYWHERE!), I would be good to go.

a little rearranging

A while back I mentioned that I was doing some rearranging in my scrapbook room so I could give my daughter my wooden shelves for her room. I am happy to say the task is done. I’ll admit I don’t love it but it’ll do for now… because there is a light at the end of the tunnel in the form of new cabinets.

I moved around two different areas and I can easily sum up the two different sections…
