a few scrappy things to share

Scrapbook Room Stuff

I am in the process of creating a blog post sharing pictures and explaining my new scrapbook room. I’ve been working on it on and off all week actually and I have to say – or warn you – that it will be the most photo heavy and lengthy blog post that I have ever created. I am sorry that it’s taking so long to share. I thought the counter top for the island would be cut last weekend but it looks like it’ll get done this weekend… maybe I shouldn’t say that out loud, I just might jinx it. It’s hard to take pictures of the room when one key element is missing. I apologize for the delay! I’ll share as soon as I can. :-)

Enjoy your long weekend!

scrapbook room: update 3

All the cabinets are in, the countertops are on, and the island is in place. The Corian countertop for the island still has to be cut and installed but I have no idea when that will be done. I love the set up and am kind of surprised how roomy it is. I think once everything is put away and organized I am going to love! love! love! to create in my new space. I’m making progress… slowly but surely. I can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

That being said, my current state of mind is completely overwhelmed! I’m sorting through my stash and am purging supplies so I can get everything put away. I can’t believe how much stuff I am getting rid of... it is very freeing but a lot of work! I hate clutter (it makes me crazy!) and since I am surrounded by it, it seems to be making the process that much harder.

The picture above shows the room before the cabinets were properly installed and all my sorting. My husband will get my old cabinets and countertop when I'm done but until then, it makes a great place to pile stuff.

more later… have a great week!

Epson + iPhone = Awesomness!

I’ve got an Epson Artisan 800 (you can find my review of it here) and it’s an awesome printer. Today Epson announced that you can print to any Epson printer from your iPhone. That is so cool and just one more reason that I think I need an iPhone.

Here’s the official announcement -

LONG BEACH, Calif. – May 4, 2009 – Printing on an Epson printer from an Apple® iPhone or iPod Touch™ is now possible using the new EuroSmartz, Ltd. Print & Share app that lets users print photos, business documents, PDF files, Web pages, e-mail, and more.

“Smart phones, especially the iPhone, are increasingly being used in place of laptops,” said Steve Semos, product manager, consumer ink jets, Epson America, Inc. “As an iPhone user, I can print PDF files, business documents and brilliant photos stored on, or taken by my iPhone to my Epson Artisan® 800 printer or any other Epson printer. Epson recognizes the need for mobile printing and is pleased to see that the Print & Share app makes printing available to all iPhone and iPod Touch users.”

The Epson Artisan 800 and Artisan 700 are ideal for printing photos and documents from the iPhone through a wireless network. Print & Share lets users print information from their iPhone or iPod Touch to a printer connected to a computer, via a network or through a USB connection. Smart phone printing to an Epson home or office printer is now a reality with the Print & Share app, available for $6.99 at the iTunes App Store.

“Epson is an internationally celebrated brand known for superior print quality, particularly when it comes to photo printing,” said Ian Schenkel, co-founder, EuroSmartz, Ltd. “We’re pleased that Epson finds value in our Print & Share app for iPhone users around the world.”

Other Stuff
We’re still working on my cabinets for my scrapbook room. The man has informed me everything should be up and ready to go this coming weekend (fingers crossed!). There has been sanding and more painting involved so it’s a one step at a time type of process. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel though so that’s a good thing.

I’ve also been reading The Organized & Inspired Scrapbooker (thank you Ann!) and my head is spinning with ideas on how I am going to set up my space. I haven’t begun sorting anything yet – honestly, my scrapbook room and front room are such a mess with cabinet parts, if I did try to sort through any of my stuff I’d probably have an anxiety attack – but I am writing down what I want to do so that’s a start.

Have a great week!
