my Quickutz die

oh my goodness! I am beyond excited! The prototype for my custom QuicKutz die arrived today. I’m totally doing a happy dance!!! It’s so CUTE!!! Thank you QuicKutz! I just got the die cut part, not the packaging so that will be a fun surprise in itself when I do get it. I assembled it and it’s adorable!!! I can’t wait until it’s officially released!

My apologies for not being able to share more details… it’s really hard not to do. I did however want to share my excitement. I feel extremely lucky!

Happy Wednesday!

inpiration and other stuff

Places I have been finding inspiration lately...
Other stuff
The three day weekend is upon us! are you ready? I’ve never been much for fireworks but the husband and kids love them so fireworks here we come! Well, they’ll do that and I’ll take photos.
On my agenda for today – I’m going to get the natural blonde put back in my hair! ha! yeah! Both the new bookshelves from IKEA are officially assembled so I’ll be unpacking all our books and getting them organized. I’d like to play with my scrap stuff too but I have a feeling the day is just going to disappear (which often happens when everyone is home!) and I’ll have to wait until tomorrow.

Something exciting (for me anyways!)
I ordered myself a little somethin’ somethin’! I’m so excited, I’m getting a new camera! I was wanting something smaller than my Kodak that would actually fit in my purse. I will say that the Kodak was a great first digital camera when I got it (about 4 years ago) but I am definitely ready for an upgrade and am going with a Canon Powershot SD850 IS. It’ll be here next week – I can’t wait!!!

I hope you have a safe and happy 4th!

more stuff to share: a layout and a card

I am so happy with how this layout turned out! I created it using the June Scarlet Lime Kit/Mini Kit. I also used my Threading Water Border Punch and Lil Davis Chipboard and Glitter Glaze. The Glitter Glaze is awesome stuff, it just paints on... no mess!

This card was also created with the June Scarlet Lime Kit/Mini Kit. I used the June Scarlet Lime sketch created by Sonda. The stamp for let's keep in touch is from the "Just Between Friends" set made by Fiskars.

Happy Thursday!

Scrapbooking from the Inside Out

I received an email about an new kit club – about self-exploration and scrapbooking – something that really interests me, and wanted to share the details. Here’s the info…

Scrapbooking from the Inside Out, founded by published designer and instructor Rachel Kaufman, is a kit club, an inspirational source and an online community for scrapbookers who want to explore their inner lives and deepest thoughts and dreams. Scrapbooking from the Inside Out advocates Rachel's trademarked approach to scrapbooking – starting with the emotion. It’s ‘Scrapbook Therapy’ – using scrapbooking as a means to self-exploration, self-expression and self-discovery. Each month, the site, and kit, will focus on a specific emotional theme.

July's kit and inspiration will focus on ‘Freedom.’ Unlike any other kit club, Scrapbooking from the Inside Out offers an online ‘Inspiration’ webpage with music links, photos of great art, quotes and journaling prompts to encourage personal exploration through the emotion. The site will also include techniques, samples and challenges from a stellar international design team and special celebrity guests to help jumpstart creativity. The site includes a forum for sharing ideas, experiences and feelings, as well as a user gallery where scrapbookers can post their pages and projects to help themselves and others be inspired.

The mission of Scrapbooking from the Inside Out is to help scrapbookers explore their inner worlds and motivate them to express themselves on the scrapbook page with greater depth, to reach for scrapbooking as support, encouragement and catharsis in processing life’s pleasurable and difficult moments. Scrapbooking from the Inside Out creates a totally new space in the scrapbooking world for sharing thoughts and feelings in the way that only scrapbookers can.

Be sure to check out their blog when you have a chance.

Happy Crafting!
