a light at the end of the tunnel

I think this past week has been one of the most stressful I have ever experienced. There is a light at the end of the tunnel though – thank goodness! Here’s a quick recap: we decided to stay in the same area (the kids get to stay in the same schools and are thrilled!), we found a house (it’s perfect!), and we’re moving on the 27th. All the final details for our current home have been hammered out and I am breathing a sigh of relief. I will be glad when it’s all over and we are settled. Now I just get to worry about the move itself! It will be interesting pulling off the first day of school, the close of the house, and a move all on the same day but somehow I know we’ll do it! Of course I’ll probably be a basket case through it all but it will get done, lol!

I’m glad I have my Daily Dose class to look forward to in September. After all this house commotion, it will be nice to focus on something else besides house stuff. I always enjoy the emails that I receive during my classes but I think my favorite part is seeing everyone’s own take on the projects and watching our class gallery fill up. Big Picture has made some awesome changes to their galleries since my 28 Days class so it will be much easier for me to leave comments this time around. Be sure to share if you are signing up!

Have a great weekend!

thank you Scrappers Bliss | BPS stuff

I just wanted to do a quick update since I am currently living in the land of crazy with all our house stuff – which hopefully I will be able to do a proper update about tomorrow… we’re just waiting on one more thing!

I had so much fun on Thursday during my chat at Scrappers Bliss! Mary Rogers (who I had the pleasure of meeting in 2005 at CHA in Chicago) was the winner of the free spot in my Daily Dose workshop. Congratulations Mary! Trish, who is their Marketing Director there (and extremely nice too!) randomly picked the winner. Thank you Scrappers Bliss for inviting me!

I’m really looking forward to the start of Creativity: A Daily Dose on September 1st! After a chaotic month (with no real scrapping to speak of) it will be a great way to get myself back into the swing of things. It is a layout heavy class (we will be creating 15!), as well as several cards, tags, and altered projects. There are also daily photo assignments! September will be one productive month! Feel free to join in!

I’ve got another class up at BPS now too called Childhood Memories. This was actually the first class I created for BPS and it is available as a Projects Now class. What that means is it is available for instant download… no waiting for class to start! In this class, you'll learn how to trigger memories and you will be creating two layouts based on the same design scheme spotlighting different memories from your childhood. There is also a bonus project! You can sign up for this class at any time!

That’s about it for me! I am in serious need of more coffee and there is some straightening to do so I’d better get to it!

Enjoy your Sunday!

woo! hoo! but ugh!

Yesterday I posted that our house was finally up for sale. We actually put it on the market on Thursday. About thirty minutes after I posted our agent called to tell me we got an offer on the house… which we accepted! However, there is a short close date… the 27th of this month… which is the flippin’ first day of school! so woo! hoo! but ugh! Now we just need to find a house, get moved, and deal with the start of school (and new schools!)… should be interesting.

I’m off to take a few deep breaths… enjoy your Wednesday!

  • Our house is officially for sale (finally!).
  • ¾ of my scrapbook stuff is in storage (as well as tons of house stuff).
  • Keeping the house constantly “show” clean is a pain.
  • I’m looking forward to my chat at Scrappers Bliss.
  • I’m getting really excited about my class at BPS!
  • Planning on a trip to the pool today.
  • There is chicken cooking in the Crockpot.
  • School shopping starts this weekend… I normally look forward to the start of school but this year, not so much… my baby will be in kindergarten!
  • I’m in serious need of a nap.
That pretty much sums up my current status!

Have a great Tuesday!

guest chat at Scrappers Bliss

Here’s something cool… I’ve been asked to do a guest chat at Scrappers Bliss! It’s scheduled for Thursday, August 9, at 8pm CST. Drop on by and say hello! I'll be giving away a free spot in my Creativity: A Daily Dose workshop. All you have to do for a chance to win is participate in the chat and a winner will be randomly drawn. Should be fun right? This is the first guest chat I’ve been asked to do so I’m pretty excited. :-)

Hope to see you there!

Creativity: A Daily Dose

Registration is officially open for my new workshop, Creativity: A Daily Dose. yeah! The supplies I used are up at (not all are required though). To find out what is required, check out the supply list. I’m thrilled to be teaching another workshop for BPS to say the least and can’t wait for September 1st to get here!

Edited to add: Daily Dose is similar to my 28 Days class in structure but all the projects are brand new!!! All of the photo assignments are brand new except for two (maybe three). I did that purposely because they're of things that can change often. Even though it's the same assignment, it's not necessarily the same photo so I still wanted to include it.

Big Picture is also doing a fun, Colorful Summer promotion during August. Best of all, it’s free! Be sure to check it out and be inspired.

Here's to a great August!
