Daisy the Wonder Dog | Accordion Album

Hi everyone! Long time no craft! Well, at least for me. The June Designer Challenge from Karen Burniston was jut what I needed to get me motivated. This months challenge was to use any of the Accordion Album dies and showcase at least one photo. I have a few photos of my Daisy dog I wanted to show case so it came together super fast.

I’m not even going to lie, I love how this turned out! I really like the contrast of the blue and white on the black. I used the Accordion Fancy Label for this project with the matching Fancy Frame Edges.

Side note: The second photo from the left looks like Daisy is peeking her head around the corner. I didn’t plan that but I am thrilled with the effect it gives.

I used a bit of patterned paper on the front for underneath the title. I used one of the accessory pieces that came with Accordion Fancy Label set to cut it.

For each of the pictures, I used the actual Accordion Fancy Label to cut them. I just lined her photo up how I wanted, sandwiched it up, and ran it through my die cutting machine. I snipped the edges away from the album and adhered her photo down onto the original black backing.

The bones and little paw prints are from the Critters at the Dog Park Lawn Fawn stamp set.

For the little circle on the right, I used some of the die cuts from the Accordion Circle album. I thought it added a nice touch.

Sending Smiles Across the Miles | card

It’s that time again! Time for the May Designer Challenge from Karen Burniston. This months theme was FLY. I grabbed my Accordion Circle Die and some Lawn Fawn stamps and got to work.

I decided to create a three paneled card. This was something new for me and I like how it turned out. I also took an extra step to personalize the card, we have family in Kansas so I put a heart in that state to represent them and one in Texas to represent our little family unit down in the Land of Hot.

I didn’t add any extra decoration to the front of the card because I thought all the stamping on the inside paired with the circles gave it just the wow-factor I thought it needed.

I added the solid frames from the Square with Circle Frame Edges to the Accordion Circle Die album.

I ended up using three different Lawn Fawn stamp sets. I used the Hello Friend set, the Wish You Were Here set, and the Bon Voyage set.

I hope everyone is having a great May! :-)

Happy Mother’s Day | card

Welcome to the April Pop It Ups Challenge! This months theme was either Mother’s Day or babies. A few weeks back I received Karen Burniston’s new embossing folders in the mail and I immediately knew what I wanted to do with one of them… and since it fit perfectly with a Mother’s Day idea, that’s what I went with. Hope you like it!

I know, I know, nothing is popping up. That’s okay though! Stay with me here – the GREAT thing about Pop It Ups dies is that they come with accessory dies and some also have extra matching accessories dies you can purchase. My point is, these extra dies can be used on there own and are PERFECT on there own.

For the front of my card I used the Butterflies Embossing Folder. I love the embossed look on white, it’s my favorite. I used one of the labels from the Accordion Fancy Label Pop It Ups set to create the opening in the front of the card. The cute little butterfly on the front was created using the Butterfly Pivot Card set.

On the inside, I created a slightly larger label using the Accordion Fancy Label Pop It Ups and topped it off with a butterfly I created using the Butterfly Pivot Card Pop It Ups set.

I made a beautiful card for my mom (Hi Mom! Look away… you see nothing!) and I know she will love it. Not that she wouldn’t love a pop-up card (she always does, she gets a lot of those from me!) but it’s nice sometimes to experiment and play and since Karen designed so many great accessory options with her Pop It Ups, I was able to do that. It was a blast!
